When using Gcore CDN, connected domains normally resolve to shared Gcore anycast addresses, while some organizations need websites or applications to remain associated with addresses they own. Bring Your Own IP (BYOIP) lets Gcore announce those customer-owned prefixes for a CDN resource, preserving IP reputation, allowlists, and network identity.

Announcement options

IP prefixes can be announced in either of these modes:
  • BYOIP — Gcore manages the route announcement and originates the customer prefix from a Gcore autonomous system number (ASN)
  • Bring Your Own ASN (BYOASN) — The customer supplies an autonomous system number and manages the route announcement from that ASN

BYOIP or BYOASN request

BYOIP and BYOASN are paid, manually configured CDN add-ons. Contact Gcore Support or an account manager to confirm eligibility and coordinate onboarding. Prepare the following information:
  • Publicly routable, customer-owned IPv4 prefixes of /24 or a larger address block, and IPv6 prefixes of /48 or a larger address block
  • Proof that the organization owns each prefix and that it is registered with a Regional Internet Registry (RIR)
  • A Letter of Authorization (LOA) authorizing use of each prefix and, for BYOIP, permitting Gcore to announce it
  • A Route or Route6 object in an Internet Routing Registry (IRR) with the selected origin ASN
  • A valid Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) Route Origin Authorization (ROA) for the selected origin ASN
  • The selected announcement mode — Gcore ASN or customer ASN
