Plan activation

Plan activation is the first step in the setup process, which provides Advanced protection for entire networks via GRE tunneling. GRE itself is configured after the network is submitted and approved. All plans include a 7-day free trial that can be canceled at any time during the trial period.

Available plans

Choose a plan based on required clean traffic volume and the number of network prefixes to protect. Clean traffic is the legitimate traffic that remains after attack traffic is filtered. See the pricing page for current rates.

Overcommit is billed per Mbps of clean traffic above the volume included in the plan. The clean traffic volume is determined from the 95th percentile of traffic samples — visible as the bits_95 value in the DDoS attack statistics dashboard. Traffic is sampled at 5-minute intervals throughout the calendar month (the billing period). The 95th percentile method discards the top 5% of traffic peaks, so short-duration bursts do not affect the billed volume. For current rates, see the pricing page.

Activation steps

Plan activation is self-service in the Gcore Customer Portal and takes effect immediately, with no approval wait.

1. Navigate to DDoS Protection and select a tariff plan that matches the required clean traffic volume and prefix count.
2. Enter payment card details.
3. Complete the activation process to start the 7-day free trial.

The trial begins immediately after activation. Continue with network submission to add the networks that need protection.
